UK Black Demographics is a data-first reference platform dedicated to providing accurate, accessible, and rigorously sourced statistics on Black British communities in England and Wales.
UK Black Demographics exists to make data about Black British communities accessible, understandable, and useful. We believe that accurate data is essential for understanding the lived realities of Black people in the United Kingdom — and for driving meaningful change.
Inspired by the work of BlackDemographics.com in the United States, this project brings the same rigorous, data-first approach to the UK context — covering population, economics, education, health, housing, politics, crime, and media representation.
This site is for research and educational purposes only. It is not affiliated with any political organisation, government body, or commercial entity.
Data is updated as new official statistics are published. Where exact figures are unavailable, estimates are clearly labelled as such.
The term "Black British" is used broadly to encompass people of Black African, Black Caribbean, and other Black heritage who live in the United Kingdom.
Unless otherwise stated, all figures refer to England and Wales. The Census 2021 is the primary population source.
